| Reading 2-10-2 #310 seen here actually started out as RDG 2-8-8-2 #1810 (serial #49487) but was rebuilt by the Reading shops in June of 1930 into the 2-10-2 Santa Fe configuration. The loco lasted on the roster until being scrapped in May of 1954. A note on the back of the photo states RDG Co #3010 (2-10-2) class K-1-sc, Caprotti valve gear, on ash pit at Reading engine terminal." No photographer was listed but this may be an Alton E. Bowers photo |
