Caption On Reverse: "Pennsylvania Railroad refugee train ready to leave Jeffersonville, Ind., for Indianapolis with hundreds of refugees. The cars were backed down to the water's edge, where the refugees boarded the trains from the rescue boats." The flood proper took place in the last days of January, 1937. Prominent here is PRR engine #5481, a K-4S built in Juniata during October of 1927, later rebuilt as a K-4SA, and retired in November of 1956 after 29 years of faithful service.
