BM 4-8-2 #4113 - Boston & Maine         
Long and powerful, this Baldwin 4-8-2 Mountain type steam locomotive was built in June of 1941 and was the heaviest Mountain type built in the US. "Black Arrow" was the winning entry in the naming contest that B&M staged when it was delievered. The loco served the B&M until dieselization ended its career. It was scrapped in September of 1956. Specs - serial #62536, class R-1d, 73" drivers, 28x31" cylinders, impressive 240 psi boiler pressure, engine weight of 415,000 lb, tractive effort of 67,900 lb. Gene Falada photo
