Here is page one of a 78-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "Those Amazing Class 'D' Locomotives." It was issued originally in June of 1981. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1223, a D-16SB (4-4-0) "American" built in Juniata as a D-16B during 1905, later rebuilt as a D-16SB, then sold to the Strasburg Rail Road in October of 1960, and presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. Photo taken on Friday, 11 June 1937. |
