The Canadian Pacific's own Angus Shops built this sturdy 4-6-0 ten wheeler as CP 2649 in March of 1910. It was renumbered 849 in 1913-14. The loco lasted until being sent to the scrapper's torch in October of 1959 after almost 49 years of faithful service.
