Here is page five of a six-page article by William D. Volkmer entitled "The Pennsy At Nortumberland: 1964-1968." It was published originally in the January 2004 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 70. Partially visible here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9595, a BF-16 built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in April of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. Also notable here is a map depicting the extent of Mr. Volkmer's area of responsibility. |
