Lorenz. Here is a photo via Bob Lorenz that was taken in Baltimore, Maryland, c. 1956. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5936, a BS-6 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in October of 1942, rated at 660 horsepower, and retired in August of 1964 after 22 years of faithful service. It's one of the very first diesel-electric locomotives purchased by the PRR. The name of the railroader pictured here and the exact date are not recorded. (Gift from Brad Mann.) |
