Portraits 4. Here is a steam locomotive portrait via F.R. Kern. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3800, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during February of 1923 and retired in March of 1948 after 25 years of faithful service. It's poised to pull "The Union." The photographer's name, the number of the locomotive partially visible at the right, as well as the exact date and the location, are not recorded. (#31 of 40) |
