This eastbound freight train passes through Howell, Michigan in 2007. Soo Line locomotive #6047 is an SD60. The second engine, #6062, is an SD60M. This type model has a “Safety Cab” that was introduced by Electro-Motive Division of General Motors in 1989. Soo Line purchased five of them. These were the last engines the railroad bought. The red paint scheme is nicknamed “Candy Apple Red.” Canadian Pacific Railway purchased SOO Line in 1990. At this time, these freight trains used “Haulage Rights” over CSX across Michigan.
