| Out of 62 double-deck Class 502 ordered, 30 rains as an eight-part, 200-meter-long version IR 200 with 696 seats. They have 10% higher seat capacity than the Re 460 / IC2000 standard double deck coach trains. This was achieved with the distributed drive system in which twelve traction motors are used in the bogies of eight-part units and the positioning of the pantograph at the front and back end of the EMU. Hence, the train has two open decks and gangways from front to end. |
