| A CN local crosses Garfield Ave. as it works the northwest end of the former C&NW yard on Doty Island at Menasha, WI on 21 Feb. '20. The former Graphic Packaging International facility, originally Marathon Corp., 160 Washington St., stands at left. The facility has been used for storage since Graphic Packaging International abandoned 228 hardworking Americans by moving production out-of-state at the end of 2016. The north end of the C&NW freight house can be seen at right. The freight house was built by the C&NW in 1965 at a cost of $400,000. The turnout and track leading into it, as well as some yard tracks, were torn out in Sep. 2013. I do not know if they use the entire building, but the southern portion is currently home to FRSTeam by Gunderson, 268 Sanford St., Menasha, WI. |
