Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on 18 September 1954. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9326, a GS-4 switcher built by General Electric in November of 1947, rated at 380 horsepower, and retired during 1965 after just 18 years of revenue service. Partially visible behind the switcher is a K-4S "Pacific" steam engine that's preparing to make yet another fast passenger run through the Pine Barrens to Camden. ("LouisFols"; #37 of 39) |
