Harley. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Tom Harley that was taken in Chicago, Illinois, on 21 June 1947. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5823, a BP-60 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in March of 1947, rated at 3,000 horsepower for passenger service, later rebuilt into a 2,500 horsepower BH-50 for freight/helper/pusher service, and retired in September of 1962 after just 15 years of revenue service. |
