WREN was one of eleven 16-duplex-roomette / 4-double-bedroom cars built by Budd in mid-1954 as Baltimore & Ohio 7100-7110. B&O 7110 was placed in service on 10 June 1954, became Seaboard Coast Line economy sleeper 6707 in 1969 and then Amtrak 2017 in 1971, and was renumbered Amtrak 2537 in 1976 when it was redesignated a first class car. The car was photographed at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal while being used as a dormitory car on a special train from Chicago. It was retired in 1985 and sold in 1988. |
