TRB. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred Kern that was taken at the Rockville Bridge near Marysville, Pennsylvania, on 10 March 1957. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6758, an M-1B (4-8-2) "Mountain" built in Juniata as an M-1A during June of 1930, rebuilt as an M-1B in December of 1948, and retired in February of 1958 after 28 years of faithful service. In this context, it's just crossed the Bridge with a mixed-cargo freight train on its way to the Enola Yards. Visible at the far left are two yellow "amphtracks" (i.e., Amphibious Landing Vehicles, Tracked) that are utilized for Bridge maintanance activities. |
