Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Marysville, Pennsylvania, on 30 August 1956. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9618 and two more "AF" Class units whose numbers are not recorded. All were built by the American Locomotive Company. #9618 was built in May of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. They are about to cross the Rockville Bridge with an eastbound mixed-cargo freight train. Raymond C. Laws Collection. |
