Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in June of 1965. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "Alco C-628 #6302, 2750-hp, at Altoona, Pa." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6302, an AF-27 built by the American Locomotive Company in March of 1965 and rated at 2,750 horsepower. It's parked just West of the Altoona Station, awaiting its next passenger helper run up "The Mountain" to Gallitzin and back. Photo taken adjacent to Altoona's 17th Street Bridge. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-41).
