Photo Caption: "Baldwin RT-624 #8959, 2400-hp, at Pitcairn, Pa." Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8959 and another RT-624 whose number is not recorded. #8959 is a BS-24M transfer switcher built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in October of 1951, rated at 2,400 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service.
