Finlay Fun-Time Tours car FTX 6 AUDUBON PARK, later AMTK 800106, was leaving New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal on the rear of Amtrak’s westbound SUNSET, right behind the train’s transcontinental sleeper. This car was built by Pullman-Standard in December 1955 as Union Pacific 6-section, 6-roomette, 4-double bedroom sleeper NATIONAL SCENE, one of 12 Plan 4197 cars in Lot 6957. The Wabash had three identical cars built under Lot 6966. These were among the last conventional sleeping cars built in the U.S. |
