Before heading out of town today, we went to a Phsyc Show, which other than the magic show, is the Number 1 attraction in the Dells. It was freaky, but it was pretty cool! Didnt bother catching anything on CP that morning, even though I did hear AMTK 8 and a CP train. The most amazing thing about the entire trains on CP is that I didn't see a single CP unit during my stay. Not a one. Sure a lot of foreign power on that line. Before leaving the Dells all together we stopped and got lunch at Culvers. On the way to Fond Du Lac we saw an empty coal train at Portage with UP power but we didnt stop to take photos. We got to Fond Du Lac and stayed at the Holiday Inn express, which was very nice! My aunt and I went over to the famous Byron Hill on the CN just north of the small unincorporated town of Byron, WI. Here, CN uses pusher sets to help the really heavy trains make it over the steep grade just to the south of us. As soon as we got to the tracks, the gates came down and the pusher set was heading back to the yard in Fond Du Lac. Todays helpers included a CP Cowl Draper Taper SD40-2 and an IC OLS SD40-3. |
