Partial Caption: "In times past, diesels then commomplace but now revered in memory did the honors on the Long Branch. In June 1960 at Red Bank, we see . . . Pennsy BP-20-class passenger Shark 5779 on a race special for Monmouth Park." #5779 is a BP-20 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in October of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in May of 1965. |
