CN 2856
A CN container train hugs the western shore of Lake Winnebago as it heads north via former C&NW rails at Oshkosh, WI on 24 Feb. '18. Several ice fishing shanties can be seen out on the lake. I had hoped to capture a similar scene a week or two earlier, when there was much more activity on the ice, due to the sturgeon spearing season (the railroad did not cooperate). Train had two locomotives, CN 2856 pulling and CN 2987 pushing.

Richard Hopfensperger General If only there was a way to gain some elevation to see over the train too. That would really show the phenomenon that is the city of shanties that occurs annually. Nice shot. 3/21/2018 1:07:12 PM
T. P. Bruss General Thank you both for the compliments, I appreciate them. I wholeheartedly concur with your wish to gain some elevation for this scene Richard. If we could make friends with the owners of the historic building behind me, that might do the trick. 3/22/2018 4:20:34 AM
