This was Seaboard System local Extra 6756 North, the Bay Turn out of Gentillly Yard in New Orleans. The train was called the Bay Turn because it was advertised between Gentilly and Bay St. Louis, Mississippi; but it sually spent the entire day switching industries at Michoud, about six miles east (railroad north) of Gentilly. The local was photographed from SD40 8340 on train M571. |
