Coal Duty at Russell Station 1998         
October 9th, 1998 Conrail B23-7s 1957, 1953, and sister 1964 drop off coal loads and pick up empties. The location is Charlotte NY at Rochester Gas & Electrics power plant, Russell Station. The power plant was built in 1948 and eventually produced 253 megawatts of power, the main fuel was bituminous coal delivered by rail. The plant was razed in 2016 and the tracks are torn up back to the Hojack Line. These Conrail units were based out of Rochester NY at Goodman St. Yard. Image scanned from Kodachrome 64.
