Elkhart has been under major construction since last June. To make it easier for trains to navigate in and out of Elkhart, they ripped up the tracks that go underneath the NYC signal bridge and by the station. They out in two new band tracks and a new connection track between the NS and GLDK. Sad that trains will no longer run underneath tone of the last remaining NYC signal bridges on the Waterlevel Route. My dad and I think that it will become a part of the museum now. Even though it isnt quite the same, we get a decent picture of NS 200 coming into the yard beside the signal. NS 18K is the freight cars in the back. |
