| At one time it was common to see fast freight and passenger trains of the Pennsylvania Railroad rushing back and forth between Baltimore, MD and Sunbury, PA along the Northern Central. A small yard was maintained here for freight interchange with the tiny Stewartstown Railroad as well as a passenger station serving both operations. Today the old station sees only the trains of excursion operator Steam Into History recalling a much simpler time, in addition to the many bikers and joggers on the parallel rail trail. The Stewartstown Railroad is also looking to rebuild its own tracks from Stewartstown back to this location as well. |
