This, I suppose, is the dreaded "wedgie" shot. Oh well. I like it, for the downtown background, the heat shimmer, the perspective on the train and the empty track next to it, and of course some comedians finger-written note on the engine nose. UP #8431 and company are heading southbound out of Portland on a sunny July 4th. I rushed to get ahead of the train and cross the tracks to the sunny side... then was stuck there for a good ten minutes as the train crawled along, then stopped, then rolled backwards, before finally proceeding forward again.
