Montandon. Here is an original photo that I took near Glen Iron, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, 26 July 1961. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9254, a BS-10A built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1948, rated at 1,000 horsepower, and retired in September of 1967 after just 19 years of revenue service. In this context, it's pulling a two-car local freight train eastward on the railroad line between Montandon and Milesburg. ("Red Shift" slide converted to Black & White.) |
