Last look at the North Western  Contributor's Pick!
Moorland was the site of an out of the way junction between a former CNW secondary main and a couple of branchlines. For some reason, unpatched CNW equipment kept ruling Moorland past the UP merger. This picture is significant to me because it was the last time I ever saw an unpatched original CNW engine still in service. When I stopped to shoot this, I had no idea it would be the last. Battered workhorse 6847 in all its North Western glory, complete with a smiley face on the front bell, wrapped up my former employer for me.
