The photographer was standing on the Illinois Central Gulf main line, facing north, about three blocks south of the former New Orleans-Great Northern depot in Bogalusa, Louisiana. The buildings on the left of the tracks were a couple of sheds, the storeroom, and the diesel shop. The GP38 in the distance was parked next to the diesel shop and across from the depot. The large open area on the other side of these buildings had been the site of the NOGN-GM&N-GM&O locomotive shop and roundhouse. (approximate date) |
