Winter Night. Here is an original time-exposure telephoto view that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during February of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #7213 and #6515. #7213 is an EFS-17M built by EMD in 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. It is uncoupling from a caboose, and will move away in a moment or two. #6515 is a GF-25A built by General Electric in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. It is parked in the Altoona Yards, awaiting a crew and orders to pull its mixed-cargo freight train up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. Photo taken from the 4th Street Bridge. |
