| Classic first generation power sat side-by-side outside the engine house at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal, facing into the morning sun. The set on the left - for the PANAMA - was made up of Illinois Central E8A's 4027 and 4022, both in Amtrak paint, and Amtrak 436. This locomotive was previously IC 2021 and originally IC 4029, and was the only IC unit purchased by Amtrak. The set on the right - for the SUNSET - consisted of FP7A 114 (ex-SP 6450), F7B 163 (ex-SP 8296), and SP SDP45 3202. |
