Winter. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 03 January 1965. Shown here (F to R) are PRR engines #9647, #9823, and #9668. All are EF-15A's built by EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9647 was built in 1950, #9823 was built in 1951, while #9668 was built in 1949. They have just uncoupled from a train they pulled into Altoona and are about to pass under the 7th Street Bridge ~ after which they will proceed a short distance and stop, and then they will back into the East Altoona Ready Tracks. Visible on the right are some of the cars of a 40-car TrucTrain entering the Eastbound Receiving Yard. |
