PC 8053, GP38-2, 1973
PC Power. Here is an original photo that I took of a Penn Central Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during June of 1973. Shown here are PC engines #8053 and #7866. Both were built by GM-EMD. #8053&is a GP38-2, while #7866 is a GP-38. They are pulling a mixed-cargo freight train up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. The black-colored 12th Street Bridge is visible in the distance.
