PRR ROSE Tower, 1963
8th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad property in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 10 August 1963. Shown here (L to R) are the PRR's ROSE Tower (in white), the 8th Street ("Red") Bridge, three ALCo locomotives waiting for their next assignment. and a Baldwin road switcher working away. Visible in the foreground are the west- and eastbound passenger/through tracks, to include position-light Signal #2344. Visible in the middle are three ALCo AS-18AM locomotives: #8663, #8660, and #8672. Brush Mountain is visible in the far distance.
