PRR 7131, EFS-17M, 1963
AHC. Here is an original photo that I took at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 28 September 1963. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7131, #7252, #2204, #2205, and #2220. All were built by GM-EMD. #7131 and #7252 are EFS-17M's rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7131 was built in 1957, but #7252 was built in 1959. #2204, #2205, and #2220 are EF-22's built in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. They are pulling a 56-car westbound merchandise freight up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West.
