PRR 4887, GG-1, 1965
Museum Bound. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 28 March 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #4887 and #4913. Both are GG-1's built in Altoona: #4887 was built during April of 1939, but #4913 was built during January of 1942. They are arriving with southbound passenger train #121, the "Congressional." The time is 12:26. #4913 is now on exhibit at the Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Ben Kranefeld General North Philadelphia station is still a great place to take pictures of trains along the NEC! I like the actual "North Philadelphia" station sign! Fantastic shot! 7/1/2016 5:33:21 PM
