PRR 2533, GF-25, 1965
Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train between SLOPE and WORKS Towers in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 06 June 1965. Shown here are PRR engines #2533, #2532, and #2531. All are GF-25's built by General Electric in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. They have just passed under the 4th Street Bridge with a westbound ore train. The water tank is all that remains from the Steam Age when there was a small coal/sand/water point here. 7th Street Bridge is visible in the distance.
