AARP Car Code FD: depressed-center flat car, Greg. Not just a flat car. Depressed-center flatcars are made specifically to haul heavy and/or outsized and/or high loads that won't get under bridges, overpasses, etc., on regular flat cars. An FDH is a heavy flat car, with as many as 24 to 30 axles, built to carry loads in excess of 275,000 lbs.
