Written up as 55 total cars and one loaded; it peaked my interest as what could be rolling towards my location. Every now and then an oddly symbolized train will appear on the BNSF Hannibal Sub. line up. After hanging out on this line for 25 years the symbols and trains become familiar enough to where you dont need bother looking up the symbol. This train was that exception. After waiting and wondering what this could have in tow, BNSF 5150 appears around the corner with this buffer car and string flats. The U-RHDBIR4 05A (Richardton, ND to Birmingham, AL) is seen here as it rolls south, track mark west, on the BNSF Hannibal Sub. just north of Foley, Mo. at Mp. 61. Guessing to the best of my knowledge, this would be an empty pipe train. Most likely from the oil fields up north. Especially since there were 54 empty 89ft. flat cars with pipe cribbing on the decks. |
