Since no exact records of the paint color existed for the original car, the 2015 Lincoln Funeral Train project enlisted the help of chemist Wayne Wesolowski of the University of Arizona in Tucson who was able to track down an original window still in existance in Minnesota. By chemically analyzing a small chip of paint, Weslowski was able to compare it to pigment records from 150 years ago and determine the correct shade of brown used. Just one more small detail that took the talents and efforts of others to help recreate this car. |
