Here is an action shot of the Alco-Richmond "Mountain-type" locomotive delivered in March of 1917 ready to pull a freight from the Peru, IN, yard. Usually this class worked passenger service. The original number was 318 but renumbered in 1923. Specifics - class J-1, 62" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 29x28" cylinders, engine weight of 330,000 lb, tractive effort of 58,110 lb.
