| WSOR local has parked next to the former MILW depot at Horicon, WI after completing a trip to Oshkosh and back on Memorial Day, 25 May ‘15. The current depot dates to ca. 1915. The Wis. Railroad Commission, after hearing complaints from the Horicon Advancement Assn., ordered MILW to construct a new depot. The previous depot, built ca. 1888, was deemed too small, outdated, and unsanitary. I haven't been able to determine if this was new construction or if the existing depot was expanded and updated (comparing historic photographs it seems like the later). |
