CN through freight passes under the Main St. overpass while an old, formerly rail-served industry on Union St. is being dismantled at the north end of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 7 Apr. '15. I don't know what its last primary function was, but it was labeled as an ice house on the 1913 Sanborn map. The parking lot on the left is where the depot stood. The SOO/WC depot was built on the north side of Sherry St. on the east side of the tracks between 1891 and 1895. It replaced the ca. 1871 depot that stood at the west end of Wisconsin Ave. The Sherry St. depot was demolished ca. 1955 when a new depot was built between Main St. and N. Lake St. on the west leg of the wye, about 850 ft. to the northwest.

T. P. Bruss General I share your lament of that building's demise. You/we could purchase the parking lot on the left and build a replica of the SOO depot that once stood there to create a perfect venue for a hobby shop/model railroad club/train nut cafe. 5/11/2015 2:24:15 AM
