Here is a very old reprint of the East Broad Top ten wheeler locomotive "Cromwell, later given the number 4, with its crew and possibly owners or riders posing by it. Some discrepancy in sources for the builder but most agree that this locomotive was built by Burnham, Wm & Co (Baldwin) in 1901. Specifics - 48" drivers, 160 psi boiler pressure, 16x20" cylinders, very modest engine weight of 80,000 lb and tractive effort of 14,507 lb. The locomotive worked EBT for 33 years before retirement in December of 1934. No photographer was listed. |
