| Built in 1951 by AC&F in Lot #3442 as a 60 RPO-baggage, 1 of 6 such cars (#37-#42) built in that Lot for the Mid-Century EMPIRE BUILDER; the Lot was ordered in October 1949, cars were delivered between October 1950 and March 1951. The #41 was transferred to CB&Q in 1953 as part of mileage adjustment and the #37 was scrapped in 1968. The remaining 5 cars were intended to be renumbered as #600-#603 and #607, the #42 as #603; but only #38-#39 were actually renumbered to #600-#601.
