Built in 1949 by P-S in Lot #6806 to Plan #7581 as SP 36 seat diner #10207 GOLDEN VIAND, 1 of 8 diners (#10202-#10209) built in that Lot, which was ordered in June 1946; cars were delivered between September and December 1949; the #10209 had been ordered in September 1947. 3 of the 8 diners (#10206-#10208) were built with 36 seats and GOLDEN-series names for assignment to the GOLDEN STATE; the other 5 diners were built with 48 seats to Plan #7579A. In 1965, the GOLDEN-series names were removed; the #10207 was retired in 1969 and reassigned to MofW. The #5923 was one of several SPMW cars to receive DAYLIGHT paint; the #7118 in Klamath Falls was also in DAYLIGHT paint before being repainted to Armour Yellow.
