| Wandering the grounds of Metro East Industries, Incorporated, in Alorton, Illinois, is like browsing in a well-stocked hobby shop - Following every turn one discovers locomotives painted for yet another railroad or leasing company! At the southern end of a typically eclectic string of diesels is GMTX GP38-2 2623. This EMD product started out as Penn Central GP38 7932, later becoming part of the Conrail roster (as CR 7932) upon that railroads formation in 1976.
