A Green Bay to Stevens Point train waits for clearance thru Shawano Junction under the western approaches of the Roland Kampo Bridge. The train is waitng on the former CNW Valley Subdivision mainline adjacent to the Stroebe siding. Shawano Junction is behind the camera, to which the curving track connects. The Shawano Sub is parallel the track seen here to the left seperated by the trees. The CNW main here used to go straight towards the camera, and eventually curve to the right of the photo to cross Little Lake Buttes des Morts. The trestle is now part of a recreational trail. The CNW and the Soo Line, did not have a junction here while they owned these right of ways. The connection is courtesy of the Wisconsin Central after purchase of the FRVR. |
