| Delivered to Union Pacific in January 1989, this locomotive has worn the same number for the railroad that ordered her 25 years ago. While UP has auctioned off some members of the C40-8 fleet, the lucky ones still in active service seem to be turning up everywhere in every type of service. Since delivery 9314 now sports cab air conditioning but so far has managed to elude yellow frame striping except for one door under the cab giving this GE two shields. Note the new truck struts on the front and rear and the missing panel near the exhaust stack. |
